How it all began

It all started on a dating app.

We swiped right and hit it off immediately over shared loves of Michigan football, Jurassic Park, and Rick’s in Ann Arbor. While our first date was supposed to be watching a UM game, COVID had other plans, so we improvised with pizza and found ourselves at a bar that quietly became a real-life speakeasy.

Our early months together were full of cooking experiments, perfecting old fashioneds, and dining in tiny winter huts around the city, but as the world reopened, we traveled, cheered on our favorite Chicago teams (go Cubbies), and ate our way through every city we visited.

Dan proposed in Madrid at the highest point in the city — Lauren laughed before saying yes.

From day one, we’ve just fit; we’re best friends, adventure partners, and can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter with you.
